Fran Healy

Fran Healy from Travis. in a small bar had a concert yesterday. around 200 ppl i guess. sitting and listenting to him and walking to bar and get another drink :) played his solo album songs together with ones from the band. before each song, he told stories about them. it was soooo funny. you could even count it as a standup comedy. :)
song i gave the link above is about a couople at 80s as he says. paul mccartney playing the bass. one story i still remember (most of them are gone already):
he goes to holiday with his wife which he doesnt do often. they go to an island. they meet another couple there and having a dinner together one night. suddenly someone comes up and goes: 'may i have your autograph?' he is paul mccartney. he gave tens of compliments to him. anyway next day he is walking on the beach. he sees mccartney in the distance. after a while he is sure that this is him. he gets excited again. then suddenly they run towards eachother in slow motion as in the movies and hugged :)
some other about his son and wife, etc. feeling lazy to write them all down.

if he happens to come to your city. never never miss it. quality night!

A message to you Rooney

A message to you Rooney. Crawley was the town that I have been for a business trip. A typical British small town it is. I remember also that the Cure was from Crawley. Tomorrow they're playin ManU in FACup.

rapidscore.net

Faster than livescore or any other website (except goal724.com). but goal724 has annoying sound effect on as default. As you open the page up, you wake up 'the neighbour' 10 km away. mackolik.com is also as at the fastest range but it's only turkish equivalent of goal724 and not only sound but also ads are annoying there. so new fav. is rapidscore.net

bet and lose

missing by one. once again. over and over again. what a betting day. i had high hope after yesterday's live bets on ars-barca game.

6 stakes for Europe League night: 4 missed by one. 1 saved all money spent. 1 is a real failure.

selective perception

have just started reading football against enemy by s. kuper at last. 2 quotes from chapter two.

"The two teams, in short, summed up the way the Dutch wanted to see themselves and the way they saw the Germans. We were like Ruud Gullit and they were like Lothar Matthaeus. There were obvious flaws in this notion, and so, to make it fit, the Dutch briefly forgot their own discipline, their own stadiness, and their own intolerance of Turks and Moroccans and Surinamese like Gullit."

"... Several charter flights to semi-final were annuled, as fans saved for the final against Germany. Against Denmark, whole sections of the stands stayed empty. Naturally the Dutch lost. They were just too arrogant. Peter Schmeichel, the Danish keeper, noted the rage that they barely bothered to slap hands when Bergkamp scored their first goal. After the game they were distraught: Germany had beaten Sweden to reach the final...
The Germans lost the final, and in Copenhagen, the Danish players and the crowd sang, 'Auf Wiedersehen, Deutschland'. They had been occupied too.

No Visa for Turks into EU - coming soon

This is somehow going to be practical as well in the coming future. For the time being, two individuals won the case first in Germany last month. And now in the Netherlands.Human rights, agreements signed by both parties many years back and stuff

I still believe that I should have the right to vote in local elections. An EU citizen moving to Utrecht yesterday and register in the City Hall can vote next day, or a Dutch moving any other town to Utrecht too. But for non-EU citizens, first you have to be living for 5 years. Human rights: I should be able to say my word for the city I am living in. I can understand it about the general elections (this sounds like a one-to-one translation, I don't know) but local elections, come on! this is another case you can easily win :)

Reklamsiz kacan program

Yildiz.tv denilen harika bi site kesfettim gecenlerde. Bir de NTVSpor olsaydi cok guzel olurdu. Su an icin sadece NTV ve TRT (Stadyum mac ozetleri icin mesela) icin kullaniyorum.

Soyle ki cok guzel yayin kalitesi ile gectigimiz 10 gun icin kanalin istediginiz yayina geri donebiliyorsunuz. (digiturk bunu parali hizmet olarak son 1 gun icin yapiyormus sanirim. bedava ve 10gun tartismasiz ustun haliyle) Yapilmasi gereken ana sayfadan kanali secmek. Sonrasinda kacirilian programin gunu secilmeli alt menuden. Bunun ardindan kanalin o gunku yayin akisi sagdaki menude beliriyor. Ve o menude istediginiz programa tiklarsaniz direk o saatteki yayina baglanmis olunuluyor. Boylece elle saat:dakika:saniye girmek zorunda kalinmiyor. Genelde reklamlarla karsilasiliyor,  neticesinde hangi kanal tam beyan ettigi saatte basliyor programlara tartisilir.

Olay budur. Kanal iceriginin genislemesi dilegiyle. Keske bunun BBC One olanini da bulsak da Match of the Day'i daha rahat izlesek. NTVSpor da guzel tabii bahsettigim gibi.

Persepolis (2007)

"You can die in the West, nobody cares.". Quoted from movie Persepolis.

I was trying to explain it last year to a friend. Living alone and especially abroad. Say I die in bed over night.( Actually you cannot imagine any better death.) Last year, situation was a bit more complex. They would call me on my mobile from work. No answer for a day. They wouldn't mind that much. Second day, third day. Then they know my address. Or they could let police know. Viola! For friends, it would take a lot more. Almost everyone was used to see me rarely or whatever. For my parents to smell something going wrong(!) it would take roughly 10 days. Mama is used not to talk on internet for a week or two. But then, nobody had any connection to the life of mine in Turkey. Only consulate could send my body home.

From Led Zeppelin. In my time of dying, I want nobody to mourn. All I want you to do is take my body home.

Now, Vale has a spare key. Couple of girls had mama on facebook. Actually I should give bro's mobile to company for emergency cases.

I wasn't supposed to fight for anything back home. On one hand, as I think, I feel kinda bad for leaving country as it is and saving my own ass. But honestly, that doesn't happen all the time.  On the other hand, I definitely don't think that I would do anything to make it better over there. Only try to get as much as possible in those conditions. That's it. After all, this life here doesn't have only bright sides. Pleasure and complaints. This and that. Don't feel at home here. Not there as well, but that's a matter of time actually. Still, I am not prefering to go back at all. Especially not before that I am eligible for 3 weeks of military duty. For the rest, I don't think I'll be back as well.

The most I can do maybe is to de-register over there, so I can vote in airports or maybe with post (this is no possible, I believe. - and also I hope indeed).

xbmc

XBox Media Center.
I love this media center. Now watching a movie is a lot more fun! Once I have checked the .avi file names in my external harddrive. So they are somehow not random file name but exactly or close movie title. Then actually, BSPlayer Pro I have it downloaded automatically searched for subtitles from opensubtitles.com and automatically saved those subtitles with the name of the movie into same folder. Which means any media player will play the movie directly with subtitles.

Then XBMC installed. Folder of the movies are selected. Just saying scan for movie information. It looks automatically for the info (year, director, actors, etc.) together with poster and IMDB rating. So now, it is easy to pick a movie to watch alone or together with friends.

Unfortunately, auto scan was not fully succesful, but found proper info for roughly 80% of the movies I have. The rest can be added manually as well.
There are many ways for viewing the index. The one I uploaded is not the best way. You can sort them with year of production, IMDB rating, director, etc. You can have the list only appearing in posters and detailed info, etc.

Baader Meinhof

Been a while since I have coincided with this album. Can't say much about artist. I just learned it is album from Luke Haines who you might know from Auteurs or Black Box Recorder. Anyway still could not find the album to download, so I have to listen at grooveshark or fizy (below I leave two songs' links). Baader Meinhof was also name of anti imperialist guerilla organization in 70s. There was a movie I saw (called Der Baader Meinhof Complex) about this group of people .

Baader Meinhof  Actually one day at work, Radio Eksen played this song and it caught me somehow without paying any attention. The second link below came later during further listening to whole album.

Meet me at the Airport

I met a man, he was a prophet. When you've decided, meet me at the airport.

These Dutch and Belgians are crazy!

The title gives the conclusion. Baarle-Nassau is a town in southern Netherlands in province of North Braband*. See the map please. Dark parts are Belgium. Here is the first picture that you can see that a shop lies in two countries.

Although it is weird enough, but still I can understand that some people felt that they belong to this or that country. I cannot imagine of the facts of taxes, elections, etc. It is not rocket science to make some rules. That's also OK. But what about this then? From google maps

Why the fuck does this square meter belong to Belgium? Gold mine down there? Explain me if you can. Here is a video from BBC of this stupidity!

* North Braband is another story. When you have a province called North something, you can expect a south one as well. But no, only in Belgium you can find 2 other Brabands. It is as confusing as another thing: Holland is not the name of country. There are two provinces though called North and South Holland. The parliament is in the Hague, the capital of South Holland. Haarlem is the capital of the North Holland. Then why the fuck is Amsterdam capital of the country?
